What is the reason behind your career success?
I am a very hardworking person and I try to succeed in whatever I do. But I follow a simple principle of 3Ts (Trust, True and Try). I believe in staying true, believe in self and always try for new things.
What is brand for you?
It is very important for us to know about brand. Experts have their own opinion but for me brand means identity of a product in the forms of symbol, logos, trademark etc. For instance Nepal Ice, Wai wai are examples of brand. For a Brand Manager like me, Brand is like my baby and I constantly nurture this baby to be a successful entity of this society. Brand and its strength depends on how we grow them, how they develope and how better we introduce them in market.
How has marketing evolved over years and what will be the branding/ advertising scenario 5 years from now?
Marketing is always in evolution. Marketing is affected by various
factor like population growth, media expansion, cross border market, political ideology etc. Furthermore, the media vehicles are changing and people are constantly connected to the internet
and virtual world and thus marketing has become incredibly social. Marketing today is not limited to TV, radio and print. Digital and Social Medias have allowed marketing to take so many new forms and managers like us develop new strategies based on these changes. For example, with smartphones becoming increasingly popular, brands will
now have to learn how to adapt their marketing to look good on such devices.
Marketing will change drastically due to boom in technology. The advertising/ branding will not be limited to print media and electronic media in coming
5 yrs. New generations will seek all the information in their hands. Company or stakeholder must have a mindset to go for digital marketing so that consumer can be made aware about their product. I think traditional tools of marketing will not be effective like now in coming 5 years.
What is your passion except marketing ?
Apart from marketing, I am also involved in NGO’s to serve poor families and their children. I am interested in doing social work in education sector.
Are you involved in any sports or follow sports?
I love playing cricket. I also love to go parties and prank my friends. My wife considers me a great foodie and I think I am. I love chicken tandoori too much. I have interest in politics but due to time constraint I am not involved in this.
Any suggestions for aspiring marketing and brand professionals?
My advice to marketing and brand professionals is that always think beyond the box and they should turn ideas into realistic platform. Always stay updated about the current events, technological changes and follow marketing events regularly. At last I must say work seriously and take life easily. Our life is not certain so enjoy it while it lasts.
